C.A.N.T.E.R.
Welcome to Cochise Area Network of Therapeutic Equestrian Resources (CANTER) in Sierra Vista, AZ. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities through equine-assisted activities, fostering health and independence in a safe and caring environment.
CANTER proudly holds accreditation from PATH International, a testament to our commitment to top-tier therapeutic riding standards. We are one of Arizona's three Premier Accredited riding centers, validated through rigorous inspections of our programs, instructors, horses, facilities, volunteers, and documentation.
Our therapeutic riding approach goes beyond physical exercises. We tailor activities to enhance equilibrium, coordination, confidence, and more. The bond between rider and horse catalyzes achievement, bolstering not only physical well-being but also self-awareness and concentration.
As a nonprofit, CANTER envisions extending our transformative services to all eligible individuals in Cochise County. With diverse instructors and methods, we strive to meet unique needs, fostering growth and resilience within our community.
Since 1993, CANTER has evolved from borrowed spaces to a purpose-built 17-acre facility. Guided by the passion of our team and supporters, we continue to empower students with disabilities through the strength and connection found in therapeutic riding.
